A Review By Deepak Koradi An Upcoming Music Director

Bhavapayana.. as the title itself tells, it's a journey to the land of feelings and this journey begins with the soothing alaap of Dr. SPB in the first song of this album. Dr. SPB, as always with his mesmerising voice, gives the real life to this song taking us to the real world of Deepak Sagar's imagination. Chinmay with his very good sense of music has composed this song beautifully. Dr SPB's voice modulations, Deepak's words and Chinmay's outstanding tuning along with a good orchestration has resulted in such a refreshing song.
As we travel further in this journey, we get to hear some more beautiful tracks like "thandaara thara beka, nagara bindeegi..", "swaami nammaya devaar, bandaara banniro.." which have folk background. MD Pallavi, who's a very well known voice in sugama sangeetha, has sung these songs with full enthusiasm and the foot tapping music would make us dance as we keep listening to these songs. I feel these songs very well suit for folk dances as well.
Not restricting herself to folk style, MD Pallavi, with her versatile nature of singing, has filled-in life for 2 more songs in this album. Radhe's painful heart which is seeking for its beloved 'Madhava' is very well described in the song "kalarava kelade radheyolage..". With Pallavi's melodious voice and a perfect blend of guitars, voilins and piano, this song has come out neatly. One more beautiful track that would touch anybody who listens to it is "bhaavaantharangavanu mididantha chetanave, chigurodedha kanasugala chivutadiru yendu.." a new poet Prathibha Raaghavendra [from Purappemane] has phrased these lines very nicely and Chinmay has given a classical touch to this song. MD Pallavi has added her melody to increase the glory of this song. Orchestration could have been enhanced even more for this song.
Sailing further we get to hear a new voice for 3 of the songs and I feel this is a good breakthrough for Sahana Bhat. Kudos to Chinmay and the orchestration team for the soothing composition in the song "Swaatiya maleyali..." which is the title song of this album as well. The usage of flute in the song "baa kogile haadhu swaradalle eegale.." has enhanced the beauty of it. "Baruthaane chandeera jo laali.."is also a good song but there was more room for work in that song still. Sahana had done a good job in her debut but there is a big scope of improvement for her going further.
Overall an awesome and nice album. Congratulations to Chinmay for this and all the best for his future endeavors.
Best Regards,
Deepak Koradi
